1. In short
Trading binary options, digital options, CFDs, multipliers and synthetic indices is high risk. Most retail traders lose money. You can lose all the money in your trading account, quickly.
- Only trade with money you can afford to lose completely.
- No bot, strategy, signal or setting guarantees a profit. We never promise returns.
- Past results, demo results and backtests do not predict future results.
- Start on a demo account, and keep your stake and loss limits small when you move to real money.
2. The products you trade
Tredique is software. Your trades are placed on your own account at a broker (for example Deriv or IQ Option, or an MT5 broker for copy trading). Those brokers offer products that carry particular risks:
- Binary and digital options (Rise/Fall, Higher/Lower, Turbo, Blitz and similar): you lose the whole stake whenever the trade ends the wrong way, and a win pays less than the stake.
- CFDs, forex and multipliers use leverage: a small price move against you can cause a loss much larger than the margin you put up, up to the whole account.
- Synthetic indices (such as Deriv’s Volatility, Crash/Boom, Jump and Step indices) are generated by the broker’s own random number generator. They are not real markets and do not follow news or economics, so patterns that seem to appear in them do not last.
- OTC assets (such as IQ Option’s weekend “OTC” pairs) are priced by the broker, not by the interbank market, and can behave differently from the real pair.
3. Binary and digital options
Because a winning option pays less than you stake, you have to win well over half of your trades just to break even. The win rate you need is 1 ÷ (1 + payout):
| Payout on a win | Win rate needed to break even |
|---|---|
| 95% | 51.3% |
| 85% | 54.1% |
| 80% | 55.6% |
| 70% | 58.8% |
Over many short trades, a strategy that is right about half the time loses money steadily. Payouts also change: brokers often lower them at busy times, and a strategy that was profitable at one payout can lose at a lower one.
4. Martingale and stake increases
Some bot settings raise the stake after a loss (martingale) or size the stake from your balance. This makes losses grow quickly:
- With a $1 first stake and a 2.2× multiplier, six losses in a row cost $93.65, nearly all of a $100 account. Seven in a row cost $207.03.
- Losing streaks are normal. Even with a 50% win rate, the chance of at least six losses in a row somewhere in 200 trades is about 80%.
- A martingale bot can show a long run of small wins and then lose much more than it made in a single streak.
Use the “max losses in a row” and daily target settings, keep the number of martingale levels low, and size your first stake so that the full ladder is a small part of your balance.
5. Automated trading
A bot follows rules without judgment. It can lose money in ways a person watching might have avoided:
- Technical problems: software bugs, server or internet outages, delays, and changes or outages at the broker can cause missed, late, duplicated or wrongly sized trades, or stop a bot entirely.
- Broker connections: an expired or revoked API token, a changed password, two-factor authentication or a broker policy change can disconnect your account. Open trades then settle at the broker without the bot.
- Prices: the price a trade opens at can differ from the price that triggered it (slippage), and brokers can refuse or reprice trades.
- Your settings: the bot trades the stake, pairs, expiry, martingale and limits you set. Check them before you start, and again after any change.
We alert you when a bot stops, pauses or reaches its target if you connect Telegram in Settings, but alerts can also be delayed or fail. Check your bots and broker account regularly; you remain responsible for them.
6. Signals, results and backtests
- Signals in our app, our Telegram channel and robot results are general information produced by rules or people. They can be wrong, late, or unsuitable for you.
- Win rates and profits we show come from past trades, demo accounts or backtests. Backtests are run on history the strategy may have been tuned to, ignore some real-world costs and delays, and usually look better than live trading.
- Results on a demo account can differ from a real account at the same broker.
- Copy trading repeats the master account’s trades, including its losses and mistakes.
7. Brokers and regulation
- Tredique is not a broker. We never hold your money: deposits, withdrawals and balances are between you and your broker, under the broker’s terms.
- Brokers are regulated differently from country to country, and some are not authorised where you live. Check your broker’s licence and the protection it gives you (for example in South Africa, the Financial Sector Conduct Authority, fsca.co.za).
- Some products are restricted or banned in certain countries. It is your responsibility to make sure that you may trade them where you live.
- We may earn a commission from brokers when you open an account through our links. This does not change the price you pay, but you should know about it.
8. No financial advice
Tredique provides trading software and general information. Nothing on our website, in the app, in our Telegram channel or in our messages is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation that a trade or product suits you. Tredique is not an authorised financial services provider under South Africa’s Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act. If you need advice, speak to an authorised financial adviser.
9. Trading responsibly
- Set a budget you can lose and stop when it is gone. Do not chase losses by raising stakes.
- Never trade with borrowed money, rent, savings you need or money meant for other people.
- You must be 18 or older to use Tredique.
- If trading stops feeling like a choice, take a break and get help. In South Africa the National Responsible Gambling Programme offers free, confidential counselling on 0800 006 008.
